Woodstock, GA - Mr. Jim Raposa & Mr. Rick Consolo are proud to announce the
debut of TheStandardsChannel.com on July 4, 2008. The new Adult Standards
Internet Radio Station announces they will fill a void created by terrestrial radio with the moniker: Playing The World's Best Music...On The World Wide Web! According to Jim Raposa, VP/Director of Programming: "We're all about what is commonly known as The Great American Songbook...why not present ourselves on America'sbirthday?"
TheStandardsChannel.com is a hot new Internet Radio Station, which is a 24/7
subscription based internet alternative for fans of the great music and
singers absent from terrestrial radio. TheStandardsChannel.com will be augmented with several exclusive specials (hosted by music and showbiz superstars) and three exclusive, weekly shows.
Emmy nominated actor, John Gabriel launches a new and entertaining show
called "Hollywood To Broadway" which is a tribute to the great contributions
from memorable stage and movie musicals to The Great American Songbook.
This show is produced by legendary music producer Mr. Billy Terrell.
"Hollywood To Broadway", will be intertwined with anecdotes, interviews and
plenty of music. Guests run the gamut from legendary television personality, Carol Burnett to stage veteran Charles Grodin and songwriter, Ervin Drake.
30 year broadcast industry programming veteran and air personality Jim
Raposa, moves his longtime hit syndicated radio show, "Frank & Friends" to
TheStandardsChannel.com. The show, which has enjoyed a loyal audience following across the nation since it debuted in 2000, spotlights the music and career of the iconic, Frank Sinatra. A star studded array of elite entertainers who knew and worked with Mr. Sinatra have appeared on "Frank & Friends" as guests, including: Rosemary Clooney, Quincy Jones, Billy May, Keely Smith, Natalie Cole, Vinnie Falcone, Sammy Cahn, Robert Goulet and many more.
Each week, the show spotlights the music and career of Frank Sinatra and his
pallies as part of a weekly theme. It's a fast-paced, music filled two hour
event which will make TheStandardsChannel.com it's exclusive radio home.
"Friday Night Jazz Standards" is another exclusive, weekly program
presentation on TheStandardsChannel.com. Many of the top names in jazz have
turned to The Great American Songbook for inspiration and material. Friday
nights at Midnight eastern, TheStandardsChannel.com presents interpretations
of Standards by names like Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Johnny Hartman, Dave
Brubeck and Sarah Vaughan to name a few. It's a unique twist to The Great
American Songbook... and its only on TheStandardsChannel.com
After much research and real world experience in this genre,
TheStandardsChannel.com has come to the conclusion that Adult Standards
audiences aren't sitting in rocking chairs. Across the demographic
spectrum, this is a very active audience. In addition, younger adults are
finding The Great American Songbook...and they're embracing it. As one
30-something recently told us: "I just apologized to my Father for Rock and
Roll". What captures our audience is the lure of classic entertainers such
as: Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Tony Bennett, Peggy Lee... along with
newer performers like: Diana Krall, Steve Tyrell, Queen Latifah, and
Michael Buble whose performances are centered around this music and have
brought younger generation to the musical party.
Interesting to note, also, the meteoric success of Rod Stewart's recent four
albums of songs from The Great American Songbook. More than multi-platinum
sales success stories...this music also brought Mr. Stewart his first Grammy
Award(tm) win.In a statement, Mr. Rick Consolo added: "Jim and I are proud
to be a part of this new frontier in radio".
Thanks to wireless, or WI-FI technology, TheStandardsChannel.com is just as
portable as traditional radio via Wi-Fi PDA's, cell phones with internet
capability, portable Wi-Fi radios and in-dash automobile Wi-Fi
entertainment systems (now standard on BMW models).
